Brendan Day

Dr Day, originating from the island of Inisboffin, is the longest serving Dr in the Turloughmore Medical Centre having joined the late Dr Tom O Shea as assistant in 1979 and now enters his 43rd year serving the health needs of the local community. He graduated from UCG in 1973 and completed his GP training locally in Galway. He was heavily involved with the Irish College of General Practitioners since its inception in 1984 including serving as an ICGP examiner and acting as president of the ICGP in 2010.
Brendan is passionate about sports in particular GAA where he served as team doctor over the years for numerous local club teams in the area along with the Galway senior teams. He enjoys spending time with his many grandchildren and keeping competitive on the golf course in his spare time.
