Medical Training
Turloughmore Medical Centre has been a training practice for future general practitioners since 1976 and has been approved to do so by the Irish College of General Practitioners. You may therefore be offered an appointment with our General Practice Registrar, who is a fully qualified doctor learning the particular skills of family medicine. This doctor will always have access to one of the partners should advice be needed.
It is also a teaching practice for medical students approved by University of Galway. If a student is present, you will always be asked if you are happy for them to be involved in your consultation. If you are not, simply state this and no further explanation is necessary.
